Country facing severe shortage of doctors: Gadkari

Union Road Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari has said that the country is facing a severe shortage of doctors. Speaking at Nagpur yesterday, at the Maharashtra Medical Council award function, Mr. Gadkari also expressed disappointment with the fact that, government hospitals in the country are ignored due to lack of funds. He further said that many doctors are reluctant to serve in rural areas, and called it a tragedy. <br/><br/>However, the minister also applauded the doctor profession noting that despite remaining busy all the time,they still manage to keep the society aware.<br/><br/>The minister later felicitated 4 doctors from the region for their exemplary contribution to community, academic, ethical and professional contribution towards the society.
