The Ramnavami is being celebrated across the country with religious gaiety and fervour on Sunday. The day is dedicated to the memory of Lord Rama. It occurs on the ninth day Navratra. The festival commemorates the birth of Rama who is remembered for his prosperous and righteous reign.
In Delhi, people are celebrating Ram Navami with ritualistc fasting, attending special prayers ceremonies and singing devotional songs in the temples. In Uttar Pradesh, Navratra fairs have been oraganise at several places.
AIR correspondent reports, Ramnavmi was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across state on Sunday. In many temples Ramnavmi was celebrated on Saturday also. Large number of devotees took part in religious ceremonies held at different temples of Ayodhya, Vindhyachal and Varanasi. Huge rush of devotees were seen at Vindhyachal and Devipattan goddess temples. Thousands of pilgrims from Nepal also took part in traditional worship at Devipattan temple.
