The colorful festival of Holi is being celebrated across the country on Thursday.

The festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of good' over bad . The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renew sweet relationships.

The President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil and The Vice President Mr. M. Hamid Ansari has extended greetings to the nation on the ocassion of Holi.

In her message, Mrs Patil said Holi is a festival of colors that heralds joy, hope and fulfillment in people’s lives. The President wished that this festival brings together all colours of India’s diversity in a rainbow of unity.

In his message Mr. Ansari said that this Festival marks the onset of spring and is celebrated with joyous gaiety.
