Counting of votes of 4th general council election of Laddakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) in Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir has started from 8A.M. Our correspondent reports that LAHDC was constituted under LAHDC Act 1995 with formulation and execution of annual district plan power. AIR correspondent Yangchan Dolma reports from Leh that in the 16th october general council election; 69percent of votes had been recorded. the polling had been held in 24 constituencies. In the 30 members general council; two seats have already declared uncontested while the four seats are nominated by state government. In this election the main contest is between Congress and BJP. The Congress has already won two seats uncontested.
