Counting of votes for one seat of Karnataka Legislative Council in progress

The counting of votes for the election to one seat of Karnataka Legislative Council is in progress in Bengaluru. The seat from Bangalore Teachers Constituency fell vacant after former MLC Puttanna resigned from his seat and BJP membership and joined Congress. He is now contesting from the constituency on a Congress ticket. Both BJP and JD(S) had together fielded A P Ranganath as their common candidate. A High Court Lawyer H Sunil Kumar is also in the fray as an independent candidate. The results are likely to come out by this evening. The term of the winning candidate will last till November 11, 2026.<br />
