Counting of votes for Nepal House of Representatives & State Assemblies concludes

<br/>In Nepal, counting of votes for 110 seats of House of Representative and 220 of state assemblies under proportional representation has been concluded. The left alliance of CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) has got maximum votes. As per preliminary figures, CPN (UML) has got 31.73 lakh votes. After worst ever defeat in direct election, the ruling Nepali Congress has performed well in proportional representation. It is marginally behind from CPN (UML) and got 31.28 lakh popular votes. CPN (Maoist Center) is on third place with little over 13 lakh votes. The two major parties of Madhes, Rashtriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) and Sanghiya Samjawadi Forum Nepal (SSFN) have also done well. RJPN is on fourth position with 4.72 lakh votes followed by SSFN with 4.70 lakh votes. Other parties have got 9.96 lakh popular votes. The proportional representation seats will be allotted among different parties on the basis of their vote share after compilation of final figures. <br/>Left alliance has won two third seats in direct election for 165 seats of House of Representative and 330 of state assemblies in seven provinces. The historic election for 275 seats of lower house of parliament and 550 seats of provincial assembly were held in two phases on November 26 and December 7.<br/><br/>
