The counting of votes for Assembly elections in Mizoram has begun. The counting, which started at 8 AM, is being held at 14 counting centres across the state. Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth counting of votes for the 40-member Assembly. Each counting centre is under the strict vigil of a micro observer. The state recorded over 81 per cent polling during the elections held on 25th of last month. The main contest is between the ruling Congress and the Mizoram Democratic Alliance, MDA.
