Counting of votes for 81 seats of the Jharkhand assembly will be held on Wednesday amidst tight security. Counting will start at 8 a.m. and trends will be available after one hour. The Joint Chief Electoral Officer A. K. Sinha told AIR that 24 counting centres have been made throughout the state and 57 observers have been deputed to ensure impartiality. Videography of whole counting process will be done and CCTV cameras have been installed at all counting centres.<br/>1489 candidates contested the five phase elections from 25th of November to 18th of December. The BJP-JD(U), Congress-Jharkhand Vikash Morcha (Prajantrik) and RJD, LJP, CPI, CPI(M) and Maoist Coordination Committee (MCC) are the three main alliances. Of the 1489 candidates, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which has no alliance, put up the maximum number of 79 candidates. The Bahujan Samaj Party contested 78 seats, BJP 67, Congress 61, Rashtriya Janata Dal 54, AJSU 54, Trinamool Congress 37 and CPI(Marxist Leninist-Liberation) 33.
