In Assam, counting of votes for the forty-member Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is in progress. <br/><br/>Counting has been taken up amidst tight security in nine centres in Kokrajhar, Baksa, Sirang and Udalguri districts from Tuesday morning. <br/><br/>According to official sources, the ruling Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has maintained a comfortable lead in majority of the seats till the seventh round of counting. <br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that most of the results are expected by Tuesday evening. <br/><br/>Altogether, 196 candidates are in the fray for the 40-member council. <br/><br/>Over 78 per cent voters exercised their franchise during the polling fo r electing a new Council on 9th of this month.<br/>
