In Uttar Pradesh counting of votes just begun at 12 counting centres and the entire process is expected to be complete by the evening. One micro observer from central government departments has been deployed at every counting table to keep close eyes on counting process. All eyes are on the result of the Firozabad seat where Congress candidate and cine star Raj Babbar is pitted against the daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and party nominee Dimple Yadav. Meanwhile the recovery of around 100 Electronic Voting Machines EVMs in Shikohabad tehsil led to protest and a state of panic in Firozabad parliamentary constituency. The District Election officer has lodged an FIR against six officials for not depositing EVMs even after two days of the voting. Show cause notices have also been issued to Tehsildar and SDM on the matter.
