In Uttar Pradesh, counting of votes for 33 seats of 36 seats spread over 35 districts for legislative council elections will be taking place this morning. Results would be announced only after getting permission from the Election Commission.<br/>Quoting the Election Commission sources, AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that repolling in five booths of three Local Bodies constituencies of Aligarh , Bulandshahr and Meerut will also be held today and counting will be held on Thursday for these seats. Polling was held in all 36 seats on 7th of this month. Repolling at one polling booth will also be held today at Pratapgarh and counting will be taken up on 12 noon. The Commission had deferred the January 9 counting of votes seeking clarification from the Allahabad High Court over its judgment for not allowing the nominated members to vote in the elections.<br/>Earlier, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court had dismissed the petition of the Commission saying the order was clear and well clarified. The Bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and Rutraj Awasthi had said the Commission should take decision about conduct the Council elections by itself as its judgment was clear.
