Countdown begins for launch of ISRO's PSLV C-37 carrying record 104 satellites

The 28 hour count down for PSLV C 37 has been progressing smoothly since 5-28 am this morning. ISRO Scientists at the Sathish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota are expecting a historic launch at 9.28 tomorrow morning. Last minute tests are being conducted for a perfect departure. <br/><br/>A total of 104 satellites will be piggy backed in the 16th extended version of the launch vehicle. Scientists said, within 25 to 28 minutes all the satellites will be injected into their prescribed orbit after being dispatched in space. <br/><br/>Hundred and one nano satellites are being launched as part of the commercial arrangements between Antrix Corporation limited, the commercial arm of ISRO and the international customers like the United States, Israel, Kazhaksthan, the Nederland, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. The countdown for ISRO's tomorrow's launch of a record 104 satellites on PSLV C-37 in a single mission from Sriharikota is progressing smoothly. The 28-hour countdown began at 5:28 this morning. <br/><br/>The launch is scheduled for 9.28 AM tomorrow from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The rocket will carry India's principal payload Cartosat-2 Series satellite weighing 714 kilograms. It will be joined by 103 other payloads, all together weighing 664 kilograms. Apart from Cartosat-2 Series satellite, two nano-satellites are from India and the remaining 101 are from other countries.

Countdown begins for launch of ISRO's PSLV C-37 carrying record 104 satellites

The 28-hour countdown for ISRO's historic launch of PSLV C-37 carrying 104 satellites has began from 5:28 this morning. The rocket carrying India's principal payload Cartosat-2 Series and 103 other co-passangers will lift off from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotta at 9.28 AM tomorrow. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that this is considered to be the world's highest number of satellites to be inserted into space in a single launch. PSLV C37 will carry Cartosat – 2 series satellite and two more nano satellites weighing below ten kilogram in satellites from other countries, the maximum are from 96 from the United States and one each from Israel, Kazhaksthan, the Nederland, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. Through this mission, India will be second to none in the world beating all records. Cartosat-2 series satellite will have a high resolution camera to monitor.
