The Goods and Services Tax,( GST) Council today approved the primary drafts of Central GST and State GST.However, the council was not able to reach consensus on contentious issues related to dual control and cross-empowerment. During its two day meeting in New Delhi, the council also cleared basic draft of compensation law.Addressing media in New Delhi this evening, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the council is making reasonable headway to reach consensus on dual control and cross empowerment issue. He said it will again meet on 3rd and 4th of January to discuss the key issues.
