After removing restrictions on cotton exports, the government has said the traders can now start online registration for contracts from next Wednesday. The registration will be done by the Mumbai based Textiles Commissioner. The government had already announced lifting all restrictions on cotton exports for the crop this year beginning October 1. However, the annual exports will be subject to a ceiling of 55 lakh bales. After that the export duty will kick in.The introduction of the online system will help exporters know the status of their registration applications and allow the government to keep a ready tab on the exports.
