Kerala Government is all set to start a coastal shipping project linking eighteen big and small ports of the state to facilitate easy movement of cargo through sea and inland waterways.In reply to a calling attention motion state port Minister K Babu informed the state assembly that detailed project report has been submitted to the Centre and final clearance is expected.He said that Kerala has a long coast line of 590 KM and the project is aimed at linking the state with other ports of the country.Movement of cashew, rubber and coir can be made easier and chaper once the project gets started, the minister added.
