Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal scored a goal each to keep the Moroccan team's round of 16 hopes alive. Sabiri scored through a stunning free-kick to put Morocco in the driver's seat before Aboukhlal doubled the lead in the extra time of the second half. The win helps Morocco replace Belgium at the top spot in the Group F table, while the losing side has slipped to the second spot.
Earlier today, Costa Rica defeated Japan 1-0 in a Group E match at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. Keysher Fuller scored the first goal of the match in the 81st minute to put his side in the driver's seat. In the first half, none of the teams could score a goal while the second half saw an improved attack from Japan until Fuller got a chance. With this win, Costa Rica have climbed to third place in Group E, above Germany while Spain occupied the top spot and Japan are second. In their opening games, Japan stunned Germany 2-1 while Costa Rica received a 7-0 defeat from Spain.
After that Croatia and Canada will both go in search of their first win and first goals in the ongoing World Cup in Group F during the battle at the Khalifa International stadium at 9:30 PM Indian Time tonight.
