The oil company BP has revealed that the cost of tackling the oil spill from a broken well in the Gulf of Mexico has risen dramatically. It now stands at four hundred and fifty million dollars and it still rising fast .The oil giant has said the effort to contain the oil spill is now costing around thirty three million dollars a day. It is far more than the figure which was initially calculated but despite huge expenditure, it has not been able to make much progress in stemming the flow of oil. Nearly thirteen thousand people and more than five hundred boats are being deployed to try to skim and direct the oil. But the leak has not been stopped which is five thousand feet below the sea level. The final bill could run into billions to cover the future claims and fines.
