Companies with a turnover of one hundred crore rupees are allowed to establish new technical institutions in engineering, pharmacy, architecture and town planning and hotel management. This informationwas given in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today by Human Resource Development Minister M M Pallam Raju. He said the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has permitted both the privateand public sector companies and industries with the required turnover for the last three years under the Companies Act. The Minister said the Council has started the process of inviting online applications for establishment of colleges under the scheme.
