The issue of corruption rocked Parliament for the second day today leading to the adjournment of both the houses for the day. The opposition was demanding probe by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into various scams including the 2G Spectrum, alleged corruption in the Commonwealth Games projects and Adharsh Housing Society scam.The BJP had given enough indications yesterday itself that it will not allow the Parliament to run unless its demand for JPC probe into various scams was met. And that there was no change in their stand was evident from the moment they entered the two Houses of Parliament this morning.In fact even before the Presiding Officer had entered the Lok Sabha the opposition members were up on their feet and trooped into the well of the House shouting slogans to press their demand. Even the agitated Congress members were seen walking to the well of the House, though for different reasons. Upset over the reported remarks by the RSS leader against Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, they wanted an apology. As the pandemonium continued the House was first adjourned till noon and then for the day. Similar scenes were witnessed in Rajya Sabha as well. It is hoped that when the two houses meet on Monday, it will be a smooth sailing as it was on the opening Day, but to guess what will really happen, it is difficult to say for now.Meanwhile the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. P.K. Bansal has said that the opposition demand for a probe by the JPC into corruption cases can not be accepted. Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament he said the government is equally concerned about corruption, but there is a process for everything, after which the guilty can be brought to book.Holding BJP responsible for adjournments and disruptions in both the houses, Mr Bansal alleged that their conduct amounts to demeaning the Parliamentary decorum.
