Corruption major issue but PM not responsible for the situation: Nitish

The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that corruption has emerged as a major issue in the country but Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is not responsible for the situation. Talking to newspersons in Patna today, he however said the situation reflects that governance is not up to the mark. Asked about the offer by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to convene a special session of Parliament for a debate on the 2G spectrum issue, he said it has no meaning. He said the Centre should have accepted the opposition demand for a JPC probe into the 2G Spectrum scam. He refused to comment on NDA's demand for the resignation of the Prime Minister on the issue.
