Corruption in Offices: CVC recommends hefty penalty against officials involved

The Central Vigillance Commission, CVC has recommended imposition of major penalty against 99 officials for their alleged involvement in corrupt practises.<br/><br/>According to an official release, they include 15 from Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), 13 from State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, 11 from Coal India Ltd, eight from Ministry of Railways and seven each from Bank of Baroda and UCO Bank.<br/><br/>The anti-corruption watchdog made recoveries to the tune of 4.70 crore rupees from different departments for irregularities in public procurement.<br/><br/>The Commission also disposed of 1266 cases during the month of April this year referred to it for advice.
