Corporates should fund rural development, partner in govt. programme: President

<br/>President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil today called the corporate sector to adopt the philosophy of social responsibility. Inaugurating a cancer hospital set up by the Manav Sevarth Trust in New Delhi, she said corporate world should take the responsibility of the deprived and disadvantaged sections healthcare. She said the government has taken a number of steps to provide better healthcare facilities to people in areas with inadequate access to medical services. The president said awareness should be created among the people about cancer and its timely detection. She expressed hope that the hospital will cater to the needs of economically weaker sections of society. AIR correspondent reports the hospital will function on no profit no loss basis where cancer patients from all sections of society will receive treatment.
