<span style="color: #222222;">In a bid to tide over the shortage of masks amid Corona virus outbreak in the state, prisons in Maharashtra have stepped in to manufacture the protective gear. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai last evening , State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that inmates in Central Prisons across Maharashtra have started manufacturing of masks. He said, some of these masks are used by inmates themselves along with prison officials while the rest are being sold; adding that prisoners are being paid for this work.<br />''<br />''The Minister further said that as a precautionary measure, family members will not be allowed to visit prisoners for a few weeks while courts have been requsted to conduct trials through video conferencing. Mr. Deshmukh also said that all new inmates are being screened to ensure that the infection is not transmitted.</span><br />
