The number of Corona virus cases in Maharashtra breached one lakh mark. With a surge of 3,493 positive cases, State's COVID-19 tally has gone up to 1,01,141. The death toll stands at 3,717 with 127 more deaths reported. According to the State Health Department, 1,718 people were discharged yesterday, leading to the total recoveries of 47,793.<br />'' <br />''The worst-affected Mumbai Metropolitan Region accounts for 75,658 cases and 2,563 deaths. The Mumbai city alone has reported 55,451 Corona virus cases and 2,044 deaths. The number of cases in Asia's largest slum Dharavi have risen to 2,013 with 29 new cases being reported yesterday.<br />'' <br />''The state has so far tested 6,24,977 people. Total 5,79,569 people are in home quarantine and 28,200 are in institutional quarantine. The state's mortality rate is 3.7 per cent and the recovery rate is 47.3 per cent. Maharashtra's Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that a COVID-19 containment zone will be de-notified after 14 days if no new case is found there instead of the earlier protocol of 28 days. He said there are around 3,900 containment zones across the state at present.<br />'' <br />''The Minister reiterated that no movement from and towards a containment zone is allowed except for essential services. He added that currently testing of contacts is being done only if they develop symptoms. The Minister urged people to take all precautions including social distancing at public places and workplaces till a vaccine becomes available.<br />
