In an exclusive interview with AIR News, on India's stand at COP26 with regards to reduction of carbon emission, Environmentalist Dr CK Varshney said, India has given a proposal One Sun One World One Grid and the proposal needs global financing. He said, ‘India has been very very straightforward and taking very forward-looking decisions. We have got a global alliance which ultimately also got the U.N, I should say approval. And for that India has also proposed One Sun One World One Grid. Now, this kind of proposal is something which requires commitment from the countries. This will have a great impact on reducing carbon emissions.
”
” One this requires capital investment and for that again finance is our need. And therefore it is time that this proposal which India has been proposing must also be financed and countries must forward to provide the necessary finance for this. So, then a clean energy permanent source may be available because Sun Shines all the twenty-four hours. I think we should really insist on commitments and deep cuts into the emission by the developed countries and also enhance you know, the stepping up of the financing for the developing countries to really invest in their adaption to make up for the loses that they are suffering because of the global warming and climate change that is taking place.'
