Coordination Committee meeting of Congress-NCP held

The much awaited Coordination Committee meeting of the Congress-NCP was held at the Sahyadri guest house on late Thursday night in Mumbai. The prime agenda behind this meet was to sort out the differences between the major ruling parties and various other issues including Chief Minister Mr.Ashok Chavan’s style of functioning. The 10-member committee was formed, wherein, NCP was represented by Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Home Minister R R Patil, Power Minister Ajit Pawar, state NCP President Madhukar Pichad and Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel where as the Congress was represented by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Ashok Chavan, MPCC President Manikrao Thakare and Mumbai unit Chief Kripashankar Singh respectively.Differences between the 10-year old allies surfaced when Congress spokesman Hussain Dalwai accused the NCP of instigating the Miraj riots last year to gain votes. Questions were also raised at the one man functioning of CM Mr.Ashok Chavan, of his taking the one sided policy decisions. However, the Congress has defended Chavan by claiming that he had the right to take decisions after going through all aspects since the final responsibility rests with him.
