Cooperation on COVID pandemic on agenda during virtual summit meeting between PMs of Bangladesh & India: B'desh Foreign Minister Dr. Momen

Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. A.K.Abdul Momen has said that the bilateral cooperation on COVID-19 pandemic was likely to be top on agenda during the virtual summit meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<br />''<br />''He said that India has already promised to provide COVID 19 vaccine to Bangladesh and the talks are expected to reinforce that understanding, reports the official news agency BSS.<br />''<br />''Speaking about connectivity issues, Dr. Momen said that during the COVID 19 pandemic both countries established the 'air-bubble' arrangement.<br />''<br />''He said that Dhaka would seek to reestablish other connectivity modes like restoring land borders and railway links to resume travel of people at large scale.<br />''<br />''Earlier, it was announced that the two leaders will inaugurate the reopening of the Chilahati- Haldibari rail link which has been non-functional since 1965.<br />''<br />''A cargo train is likely to be flagged out during the virtual meeting of the two Prime Ministers.<br />''<br />''Foreign Minister Dr. Momen said that Bangladesh would seek steps from India to reduce the trade imbalance between the two countries to further strengthen the trade cooperation between the two countries.<br />''<br />''Dr. Momen said that relations between the two countries were rock solid and it was in the 'golden phase'.<br />''<br />''He said Bangladesh's ties with India were rooted in blood and Bangladesh's victory was India's victory.<br />''<br />''He said that Dhaka was set to honour another large batch of Indian veterans who fought for Bangladesh liberation.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The virtual meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 17th December.</span><br />
