Continuous rain creating hurdles for CWG

Government says despite incessant monsoon rains, all arrangements will be made for the smooth conduct of Commonwealth Games scheduled to begin from 3rd of next month. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mr M S Gill today conceded that continuous rain is creating hurdles. Pledging to make the Games a grand event, Mr Gill said that all 13 major stadiums have been built and handed over to the authorities on 31st of last month. He added that all stadiums are of international standard with world class facilities. The Prime Minister on Monday admitted that there have been delays and lapses in the Commonwealth Games projects. He urged to make these Games a great success so that India's image at the international level is not affected.
