Bihar Government has drawn up a contingency plan to tackle the drought-like situation in the state. Under the plan 200 crore rupees has been released to subsidise diesel. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told NDA legislators at a meeting that the subsidy will help farmers irrigate their farm lands during Kharif season. He said deficient rains has led to a drought-like situation. Bihar faces the problem for the 4th year in a row. Twenty-five of the 38 districts in the state are affected by drought.
