The Central team has said contaminated drinking water is the prime cause of Cholera in Rayagada district of Orissa. The National Control for Disease Control (NCDC) team which made a whirlwind tour of the Cholera-affected Rayagada district for the last three-days told newsmen at Bhubaneswar that lack of doctors and poor communication facilities have increased the number of Cholera deaths in the district. It said, people are not getting safe drinking water for which they are forced to take contaminated water of nearby rivers, ponds and nullahs. The NCDC team will submit its report to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare soon.
