The Commerce and Industry Ministry has decided to soon start consultation process with all the stakeholders on the issue of allowing Foreign Direct Investment, FDI in multi brand retail to allay their fears. According to the official sources, the Ministry will thoroughly explain the concerned stakeholders including traders and farmers about the FDI policy and will consider suggestions from them to improve it. AIR correspondent reports that the Government last week announced suspension of its decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail after intense opposition by various polictical parties.
