Consulate General of India, Guangzhou organized webinar on promoting Indian products on Chinese e-commerce platforms

As part of its efforts to promote Indian products in South China, the Consulate General of India in Guangzhou organized a webinar on promoting Indian products on Chinese e-commerce platforms on Friday. <br />''<br />''In a statement, the consulate said, more than 80 Indian exporters and the representatives of Indian Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) took part in the webinar. Consul General, Shambhu Hakki briefed Indian exporters about market opportunities in the Chinese e-commerce market.<br />'' <br />'' Border Association of Guangdong ' an online trading association, and e-commerce companies like T-mall Global, JingDong Worldwide, MicroMart and China E-Commerce Operation Agency made presentations regarding modalities of selling Indian products on their platforms, including import-export procedures and regulations.<br />''<br />''During the event, Sanjay Leekha, Chairman, Council for Leather Exports and Dr. Smita Nagarkoti from the Carpet Export Promotion Council made brief remarks on behalf of Indian Export Promotion Councils. This was followed by a Q&A Session, during which the representatives of Chinese e-commerce companies addressed the queries raised by Indian exporters.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">This webinar follows Mr. Hakki's meeting with the office bearers of Guangdong Cross-border E-Commerce Association last month when he discussed ways to promote Indian products on Chinese e-commerce platforms. Guangzhou consulate has identified coffee, tea, leather items, gems and jewelry, marine products, etc. which will be promoted. He also held a virtual meeting of the office bearers & members of Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO) & the Sea Food Exporters Association. The current issues faced by the exporters and ways to promote marine products were discussed.</span><br />
