The Consul General of India in Dubai, Anurag Bhushan led the Indian expatriates in celebrating the Republic Day celebrations in Dubai by unfurling the national flag at the Consulate. The Consul General addressed the gathering and read out the speech of President Pranab Mukherjee delivered on the eve of the Republic Day last evening. Later, he also hoisted the flag at the Indian High School in Dubai. Children dressed in colorful costumes presented a cultural program including a march past.<br/><br/>The Indian national anthem was rendered by young students, who were later joined by everyone in the gathering. Similar celebrations were held at Abu Dhabi where the national flag was unfurled by the Charge de Affairs Pawan Rai. A number of Indian expats from different walks of life based in UAE attended the celebrations. A dazzling display of the Indian Flag at the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the ADNOC building in Abu Dhabi are being done to mark the occasion.<br/><br/>This day is being considered very special as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Chief Guest at Republic Day celebrations in Delhi. In the evening, a musical tribute by eminent personalities including the legendary actor Annu Kapoor is being organized under the series Bharat Meri Shaan, Aaj ki Shaam Desh ke Naam at the Indian High School Dubai.
