Union Minister of Road,Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today said that the government has started the work on waterways and this year the construction of waterways on 10 rivers would be completed.<br/><br/>He said that the 50 thousand crore rupees would be spent on construction of roads in Haryana by 2019. He said that the Yamunanagar Express Highway would connect Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh with Haryana. <br/><br/>The Union Minister was addressing the audience after laying the foundation stone of Surajpur-Sukhomajri bypass to be constructed on National Highway no 21A and 22 in Pinjore near Panchkula. Haryana Chief Minister was also present on this occasion. <br/><br/>Announcing to convert the road from Yamunanagar to Paonta Sahib and Handesra to Kala Amb into National Highway Mr Gadkari said that the length of National Highways in Haryana has been doubled, which was 1470 kilometers in 2014 and in 2017 it has increased to 3270 kilometer.<br/><br/>On this occasion Mr Gadkari announced that soon Electric Taxis and Autos etc would run on roads of Haryana. He said, the buses which can run on water as well as roads would also soon be introduced in Haryana and an bus, which can fly in air would be run between Dhaula Kuan to Manesar, which will ease congestion on roads.<br/><br/>Later talking to media persons Mr Gadkari said that government is planning to introduce electric mass rapid transport, electric vehicles, vehicles capable of flying in air, ropeway and all means of modern transport. He said that a presentation regarding it was given in the meeting of Niti Aayog and soon the work the pilot project would start.
