He said that India has won the most number of medals in Olympics and Paralympics this year. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha Mr Thakur said Mission Olympic Cell chooses elite athletes to give them good quality training.  <br />''<br />''In a reply to another question, whether the Ministry has any plan in creating a sports academy in Amritsar Mr. Thakur said that sports is a State subject and that he will give the list of projects to the member. The minister said under the support to national and state sports academies vertical of the Khelo India scheme, sports academies are accreditated and provided financial assistance by the ministry for training of the Khelo India athletes.  Mr Thakur said, a total of 237 sports academies have so far been accreditated across the country.</span><br />
