Construction of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor's completes

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The construction of the entire 1,337 kilometres of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, EDFC, has been completed. Ministry of Railways has taken up the construction of two Dedicated Freight Corridor – the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor from Ludhiana to Sonnagar and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor connecting Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal to Dadri.</p>”<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />”</p>”<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor R K Jain said, the average speed of goods trains in Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor will be 50 to 60 kilometres per hour. Generally, on Indian Railways route, the average speed of goods train is 20 to 30 kilometres per hour. Mr Jain said, the first freight trial run between EDFC's New Sahnewal in Ludhiana to New Khurja has also been completed. He said, 51 thousand crore rupees have been spent on this corridor and it will play an important role in the transportation of coal.</span></p>
