AICC general secretary and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi said that the construction of big dams in the North East is not anti-people and the concern of the common man is being given top priority. He was responding to a question asked by a student during the interaction programme organized at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati campus last evening. The youth Congress leader during his introductory speech urged the youth population to play an active role in politics to ensure holistic development of the country. Gandhi also stressed on the infrastructure growth of the region along with the rest of the country. The interaction programme was participated by the students of IIT Guwahati, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati University, among others. Rahul Gandhi was on a day-long visit to Assam on Thursday where he had a series of interaction programmes with the students at the Assam University, Silchar and the Dibrugarh University before coming to IIT Guwahati later in the evening.
