Constitutionalism is primary edifice on which Indian democracy stands: President

President Pranab Mukherjee today received the first copy of a book titled 'Statement of Indian Law: Supreme Court through its Constitution Bench Decisions since 1950.The book is a study of all the judgments delivered by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court since 1950. <br/><br/>It was released by Chief Justice of India T S Thakur at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mukherjee said, Constitutionalism is the primary edifice on which the Indian democracy stands.<br/><br/>He said, the rule of law is the hallmark of the Indian democracy due to which every Indian feels empowered, making him or her participate in nation-building with full vigour and enthusiasm. <br/><br/>He said, the Constitutional Bench decisions have exhibited a reasonable degree of durability and have left indelible footprints on the sands of time.
