Law Minister M Veerappa Moily today blamed various ministries for delay in responding to recommendations to review the Constitution. Replying to supplementaries during Question Hour, he said the Centre had set up in February 2000, the National Commission to Review the working of Constitution under chairmanship of Justice M N Venkatachaliah. He said though a lot of action has been taken by ministries on these recommendations, these have not been tabulated. The minister said he has asked all the concerned government departments and ministries to tabulate the commission's recommendations. Moily further said that 249 recommendations were made by the commission, out of which 58 pertained to amendments in Constitution, 86 to legislative matters and the rest to the executive.
