Constitution Day being celebrated today

Today is Constitution Day. On the day in 1949, the constitution was adopted which came into force on January 26, 1950 marking the beginning of a new era in the history of India. From 2015, the Government is observing 26th November as Constitution Day. <br/><br/>On the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a tweet, said, the nation salutes the great women and men who gave India a Constitution that it is proud of.<br/><br/>The HRD Ministry has launched a Digital Signature campaign to generate awareness on fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution. People can join the campaign by filling a form online.<br/><br/>The University Grants Commission has asked educational bodies to read out the preamble and fundamental duties in morning assembly and arrange for one lecture on the importance of fundamental duties.<br/><br/>On the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a tweet, said, the nation salutes the great women and men who gave India a Constitution that it is proud of.

The day will also promote to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life and to have compassion for living creatures.
