Constable killed in J&K terrorist encounter

In Jammu and Kashmir, a constable was killed in an encounter with terrorists late last on Friday in border district of Poonch in Jammu Division. Official sources said the troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a search operation last evening following a tip-off regarding movement of two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Gursai area of Poonch. On seeing a patrol party, the militants hiding in the house in Sagote area of Gursai, opened fire in which constable Ibrar Ahmed died was killed. Troops have cordoned off the area to prevent the militants from fleeing. Meanwhile, the Police and Security forces destroyed one hideout of terrorists from Gambir Brahmna area in Rajouri district yesterday and recovered one AK -56 with one magazine and 13 cartridges.
