Agriculture experts at the second day Agronomy Congress have opined that conserving and exploiting biodiversity in a sustainable manner is the need of the hour for ensuring future food and nutritional security of the county. Director, Indian Agricultural Research Institute Dr A K Singh said the time has come to shift focus of agricultural research to natural resource management from plant breeding. Appreciating the role of Agronomists in the green revolution, he stressed that Agronomy is expected to play pivotal role in ensuring future food and nutritional security of the nation.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' Stating that the country is having sufficient biodiversity to combat changing climatic and socio-economic challenges, he said conserving and exploiting biodiversity in a sustainable manner is the need of the hour. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management, Director Dr P.K. Ghosh has stressed on adoption of innovations for agriculture to combat the modern-day challenges of farm sector. He said new Science tools including artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, robotics are the future of agriculture.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He also said the focus of scientific advances need a shift towards multi-disciplinary approach. He added that a value chain approach, digital agriculture, strengthening linkage of farmers with the market through co-operative approach like self-help groups and farmer producer organizations are potential socio-economic tools for the sustainable farming. The Congress will continue till 27th of this month.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;
