The Supreme Court has said, a conscious decision was taken to sentence Calcutta High Court judge Justice CS Karnan to six months imprisonment by holding him guilty of contempt of court. <br/><br/><br/>A bench, headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar, said seven judges of the apex court assembled to take a conscious decision in the matter. The Chief Justice made the remarks while he and other judges were hearing the Triple Talaq issue. <br/><br/><br/>He made the statement when an advocate, on behalf of Justice Karnan, mentioned the plea for recall of the apex court's earlier order by which the Calcutta High Court judge was sentenced to six months in jail. The Chief Justice told the advocate that the bench was hearing a different matter and he should not make a mention, but address his grievances before the registry.<br/><br/>Justice Karnan had, on Thursday, moved the apex court seeking recall its order issued on Tuesday.<br/>
