Congress wins Mayor post in Andhra

In Andhra Pradesh, Congress party has won the Mayor post while Majlis Corporator was elected as Deputy Mayor of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation today. Banda Karthika Reddy, Congress corporator from Tarnaka has been elected unanimously as the first Mayor for the Municipal Corporation. Majlis-Ithehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) corporator from Tolichouki, Hussain Mirza was elected unanimously as Deputy Mayor. <br/>Congress, which emerged as single largest party with 52 corporators has got the first term in the 150 member corporation. MIM has 43 seats in the corporation. <br/> <br/>
