The Congress today welcomed the release of the pro-democracy Mynmar leader, Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi after long imprisonment and said she is a symbol of resistance, freedom and human rights. A press release issued by the party in New Delhi, also recalled her struggle for democratic rights. The release said the Congress party fondly remembers Ms Suu Kyi's stay in India in her formative years and also her father's contribution in building the new Mynmar.
