Congress today said it wants the proceedings in Monsoon session of Parliament to be smooth and will cooperate with NDA government as long as it adopts cooperative stance. Briefing reporters in New Delhi this evening, senior party leader Kapil Sibal expressed hope that Opposition parties will side with Congress in Parliament on the issues that are important for the country.

The session beginning tomorrow is set to be stormy as the major Opposition party has mounted pressure on the government to remove External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over Lalit Modi issue and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Vyapam scam. Mr Sibal alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised a corruption free India but is now himself protecting corrupt people. He also alleged that Mr Modi's Cabinet includes twice as many politicians facing criminal charges as compared to previous UPA government.

Meanwhile, Mahila Congress has decided to gherao Parliament tomorrow to build pressure on the NDA government.
