In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress has said it will move the court seeking a CBI probe into the murder of two Chief Medical Officers. Alleging that honest officers in the state are being pressurised and harassed by the state government, Party’s national General Secretary and in charge of party affairs in the state Digvijay Singh said that Congress will file a PIL demanding CBI probe into the murder of Chief Medical Officers Vinod Kumar Arya and Dr. B P Singh. He has said the party will also demand CBI probe into the mysterious death of the then secretary housing Harminder Raj Singh, a senior IAS officer who had allegedly committed suicide at his official residence at Lucknow by shooting himself with his licensed revolver in Nov 29, 2009. He also alleged that officers against whom action was taken for irregularities in MGNREGA were reinstated and given prize postings. He said the party would launch a two-month long agitation demanding availability of muster rolls at sites where work is being carried out under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act MGNREGA.
