Congress on Tuesday urged the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not to rename the historic Indira Bhawan in Kolkata. Talking to reporters in New Delhi , party spokesperson Manish Tewari said that Late Indira Gandhi has not only been a leader of the nation but also an inspiration for the Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee. He added that party respects the Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam but former Prime Minister’s legacy should not be undermined.

On the other hand, Youth Congress held a demonstration in Kolkata on Tuesday against the proposal made by the Chief Minister to rename the iconic building.
