Congress urges EC to file FIR against PM Modi for violating Model Code of Conduct

A Congress delegation led by party General Secretary Ambika Soni and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat met Election Commission this evening and urged it to file an FIR against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for violating Model Code of Conduct. <br/><br/>The party said, the Prime Minister held an election rally in Haridwar on the 10th of this month without prior permission from the EC. Although, the EC has filed an FIR against Haridwar BJP unit for violating Model Code of Conduct, Congress said, FIR should also be filed against Mr Modi. <br/><br/>Talking to media, Harish Rawat also accused BJP of misusing central government agencies and spending thousands of crores of rupees in Uttarakhand elections. He said, the whole matter should be investigated. <br/><br/>Congress also suggested the Election Commission to make a provision to restrict the voting through postal ballots to the date and time fixed for a particular assembly constituency.
