The seat sharing talks between the Opposition Trinamul Congress and the Congress for the forthcoming assembly polls in West Bengal remained inconclusive. Congress leader Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and Trinamul Congress Chief Ms. Mamta Banerjee met in Kolkatta last night to settle the issue. The meeting which lasted for over an hour did not yield any positive result. After the meeting, Mr. Mukherjee said that both the parties will sit again to resolve the stalemate. However, Ms. Banerjee refused to comment. AIR Kolkatta Correspondent reports that Mr. Mukherjee and Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, AICC observers, incharge for West Bengal and Mr. Janardan Poojari have left for Delhi along with Mr. Mukherjee this morning. It is learnt that both the sides have reached a pre-consensus on formation of the alliance but few seats are still creating hurdles to resolve the matter. The Congress is sticking to its demand for 67 to 68 seats from the Trinamul Congress. Both the sides are likely to discuss the matter once again over the phone.
